GN Viewer – Privacy Policy

GN Viewer (“GN Viewer”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) provides a private, on-device media viewer for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Overview

GN Viewer is designed to keep your content private. We do not operate our own servers for user data, and we do not upload your media or PINs to the cloud. Most data remains on your device, under your control.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Media & Files

GN Viewer allows you to import photos, GIFs, WebP images, and videos into a private vault.

• Imported media is stored only in your device’s private app storage.
• We do not upload your media to our servers.
• If you uninstall the app, reset the app, or trigger a duress PIN, your media may be permanently deleted.

2.2 PIN & Duress PIN

GN Viewer uses a lock PIN and an optional duress PIN to protect your vault.

• Your PIN and duress PIN are stored securely using platform features such as iOS Keychain and Android Encrypted SharedPreferences (or similar technologies).
• We do not transmit your PINs off your device.
• You are responsible for choosing a strong PIN and keeping it secret.

2.3 Rewarded Ads (Google AdMob)

GN Viewer uses Google AdMob to show optional rewarded advertisements that can unlock Pro Canvas mode for a limited time.

When ads are shown, Google may collect information such as:

• Advertising ID (IDFA / GAID or similar)
• Device information (model, OS version, language, region)
• IP address and approximate location
• Ad interaction and impression data

2.4 Diagnostic Information

GN Viewer may store error logs or crash-related information locally on your device to help understand unexpected behavior.

• We do not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or cloud-based crash reporting in this version.
• Diagnostic information is not intentionally transmitted to our servers.

3. Private Browser

GN Viewer includes a private in-app browser that allows you to save images, GIFs, WebP files, and other media directly into the app.

• Browsing history and cookies are automatically cleared when the app is closed or after a defined period.
• Websites you visit may still collect information according to their own privacy policies.
• GN Viewer does not control or operate those external websites.

4. How We Use Information

Because GN Viewer is primarily offline and on-device, we use information only to:

• Display your media inside the app.
• Maintain app security (lock screen, PIN, duress PIN).
• Provide optional rewarded ads to unlock Pro Canvas.
• Improve app stability and performance on your device.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your media or PINs for advertising or profiling.

5. Third-Party Services

GN Viewer integrates with the following third-party service:

• Google AdMob – Used solely to display rewarded advertisements and (optionally) other ad formats.

Third-party services may collect information according to their own policies. We encourage you to review those policies carefully.

6. Children’s Privacy

GN Viewer is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through GN Viewer, please contact us so we can help.

7. Security

We use platform-level security mechanisms (such as Keychain and encrypted storage) where available to help protect sensitive data like PINs. However, no system is completely secure.

• We cannot guarantee protection against all forms of device compromise, malware, or physical access.
• Protect your device with a strong passcode or biometric lock.

8. International Users & Legal Rights

Because GN Viewer does not maintain cloud accounts or user profiles, many data access and deletion rights are effectively exercised by you directly on your device:

• You may delete media from within the app at any time.
• You may uninstall the app, which deletes stored app data on your device.
• You may reset your advertising ID through your device settings.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. In some cases, we may also highlight material changes inside the app (for example, under Settings → About → Privacy Policy).
